2008 Dunlop Sports Maxx Cup News Update
Dunlop and BARC are just putting the finishing touches to the first ever championship season for the BARC/Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup. With over 25 cars expected to compete this year, we are confident of an exciting year. Dunlop and BARC would like to thankyou for supporting the inaugural trial series in 2007. Without your support and investment, such a strong start to 2008 would not have been possible.
The regulations are available from Barc.net, and John Wardle and Nicola Bush remain your contacts for Technical and Administrative matters respectively.
In addition to the six Great and British events, the championship will also race at BARC meetings at Pembrey and Thruxton, the Cup taking the rare opportunity to compete at these demanding venues. BARC have also introduced a variety of race formats, ranging from double headers, to two driver race and also a couple of 'Enduro' 45 minute races. The varied formats will be yet another opportunity to allow different cars and drivers to shine during the season.
Professional Support
Dunlop will provide their BTCC style paddock village with full tyre technical support and Café Dunlop hospitality for competitors at the six Great and British meetings. BARC, organisers of the UK's top racing series, will provide the professional technical and administrative support.
The TV Coverage
In 2007, highlights from the trial series was featured in 150 UK transmissions, with over 90 hours of coverage on both Sky Sports and Motors TV, reaching over 80 million homes across the UK and Ireland On a global scale, edited action from the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup has also appeared in 15 episodes of Max Power TV, Motorsport Mundial, and Motorsport Asia, with over 500 individual broadcasts worldwide. The six Dunlop Great and British events will be televised again in 2008, with similar broadcast distribution expected.
